While Johnny was fighting cancer I can vividly remember the cloud of stress that slowly enveloped us as I watched our medical bills continue to pile up as the money in our bank account balanced on the precipice of extinction. Meanwhile, my husband sits next to me emitting a quiet but continual death rattle. To say these times were emotionally, financially, personally and spiritually trying would be a vast understatement. All that said, I can remember how incredibly overjoyed and unburdened I felt when we would receive a random act of generosity from someone that had gotten word of his / our ongoing battle. I’m not being dramatic when I say that we WOULD NOT have come out of that nightmare as unscathed had there not been people with generous hearts along our path.

If you know me personally, you know I am not much for crying. I don’t blubber over babies or war movies or even Nicolas Sparks films but this little guy’s story had me literally weeping all over my keyboard for days. I KNEW I had to do something to try to help this sweet baby and his family during an insane trial in their lives. I am not a doctor, so my assistance in those matters was unlikely - so I went with the next best thing……money. Sure it’s impersonal and it doesn’t make the world go round or manufactor happiness…but it DOES make a bad situation a little easier to bare.

After being inspired by all of the fantastic small business owners donating money to Baby Easton’s cause, The Letter B decided to hold a day of mini-sessions earlier in the month to raise money for the family and to pay some of the kindness forward that was shined on us during cancer. I cannot say enough thank you’s to all of the amazing friends and clients that got behind this idea and made it a reality. Because of your incredible generosity we were able to donate over $1900.00 to this family. AMAZING! I pray that this money will temporarily ease the stress of some bills so they can use their time and energy in loving Easton.
