Being home is much more naustalgic now that we’re old and have kids of our own. So in honor of their first trip back to South Dakota we decided to take the kids to the old shop that their Great Grandpa Orval used to run. It also happens to be the place where I shot John’s graduation photo………a billion years ago. Don’t judge me too harshly, I was only 16 and barely knew my way around a camera.

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE baby shoot outtakes. I seriously want to do a coffee table book of them someday. Below, I’m sure, is just a glimpse of all the take downs to come in poor Quinn’s future.

Twins make for some *fabulous* outtake shots! I mean, getting two babies to cooperate is hard enough, but you get two of them together who have known each other since they were little hundred-celled beings, and they just feed off each other. Mine have recently started purposefully using each other as step-stools, and trying to get them to stop wrestling long enough to release the shutter is a MAJOR feat! I love looking through my photos of them… what’s that blur in the corner? Just Jack, racing off to climb a bookcase. What’s that in Henny’s mouth? Oh, it’s that wadded-up grocery receipt I lost last week. Hey, at least there’s never a dull moment, right?
That graduation shot is nothing to be ashamed of. It’s good!
